So my 1 star review actually has nothing to do with the nurses, the physical appearance of the facility, or anything else other than their Admissions department. Absolutely terrible. My mother had been a patient at Memorial Pembroke a bit and was being discharged to a rehab facility. Maggie Paez from Admissions contacted and informed me to visit/tour The Pearl for my mother to go to. I went and liked what I saw so I told Maggie I wanted my mother sent there. Maggie sent authorizations to Memorial Pembroke and my mother was transferred. Maybe a week into my mother being at The Pearl Maggie and Dialma inform me that my mother's insurance had actually not authorized her to come to the facility. Something about a mix up on The Pearl's end with submitting an incorrect tax ID number to my mother's insurance. Absolutely nothing that I did wrong. But then I started being asked how I was going to pay for the time that my mother had already spent at The Pearl. This was shocking to me because how does a patient get transferred to a facility without proper insurance authorization. If you are going to send your loved ones here just make sure all authorizations are in place first. In response to their review reply: I do not care to speak anymore on this matter. I made my concerns very clear to your facility. My review is 100% real and it is not deniable.

Staff is welcoming and kind. My nurse Michelle is professional and prompt. I know she cares. She always goes above and beyond. Physical therapy, Occupational therapy, Respiratory Therapy are incredible I improve everyday they work with me. Gentle and never hurt my fractured femur. Johanna Mendoza, Dietary Director was prompt to accommodate my special diet and the food was always great! Stephanie the Activities Director was so sweet and so fun! She even includes my grandkids when they visit. I’m so thankful for The Pearl and the Administrator Daniel for the care I have received. I’m looking forward to my success and I am hopeful because I’m here. You guys are AWESOME!

I don't know what i would have done without Matthew and Lorena. The concierges helped me feel better about my situation and even brought me clothes and personal items from my house so I'd be more comfortable. I have never had so much attention in one day. My computer was broken and Matthew fixed it. I have spent 7 days in Holy Cross hospital and never received this level of attention. I know i can count on them. Thank you for having the concierge program. The administrator Josh does rounds and is very approachable.

LONG POST ALERT How is this a "CareRite" facility when they can't even provide care right? This place is straight up fraud. As someone who works in the medical field, it is disappointing what I witnessed during my dad's stay at this facility. I'm going to break down my complaints by department. Nursing- Most of the nurses are either new or incompetent. I encountered a few nurses that knew what they were doing but on multiple occasions I found myself having to elaborate on how to do things for my dad. I have seen nurses ignore doctor's orders for my dad and when I got to the facility I would always end up having to report it to the nursing supervisor. I have pictures to prove it. Luckily the nursing supervisors there are nice. The CNAs also for the most part kept my dad clean but he did tell me he had to get up on his own multiple times risking falling just to go the restroom because his call light would go unanswered for a while. Lastly infection control there is not good. Multiple patients on isolation precautions but no nurses in sight wearing the proper protective equipment, just going from patient to patient. Case Management- I honestly don't know why they are there because they never provide any updates on the patient's status. Weekly meetings are done yet no updates provided to the patient's family. Not only that, they switch patient's insurance without the consent of the patient and bill for unnecessary services. Fraud at its finest. Discharge is so unorganized since they use a third party company to arrange everything. Patients are at risk of leaving the facility without the proper things arranged at home which cause unsafe discharges. God forbid the patient stays after their discharge date due to their lack of planning, then they threaten you with a bill. The case management team is rude and not helpful except for one person. The grievance officer there also useless and rude. Housekeeping- My dad came into the facility with a duffle bag full of clothes and belongings and left with pretty much nothing. They lost everything and use items on other patients. I reported missing items multiple items and was told a grievance would be filed and if the items couldn't be found I would only be reimbursed if I had receipts of everything I bought that went missing. Absolutely absurd. PT/OT- The therapists are nice but the therapy provided to the patients here are a joke. My dad honestly was stronger went his first came than when he was discharged. Front Desk- I have no complaints. They were honestly the best part about this facility. Very nice and professional, very helpful. Overall if it was up to me my dad wouldn't have stayed at this facility for as long as he did but he needed some type of rehab and was limited on choices based on his insurance. This place boasts about how they provide such good care and therapy and how they involve patients family on progress but it is all lies. Avoid this facility.
